As we were responsible for the advertisement of the screening of Ruth Fazal’s latest musical composition, ‘Ezekiel: Out of Exile’ (June/July), we would like to clarify that Ruth Fazal is a violinist, composer, singer and songwriter but not a film-maker – although the composition is presented as a 45-minute film.

Ruth has also composed the ‘Oratorio Terezin’, inspired by the poems written by children in Terezin, a holding camp for Auschwitz. Only 100 of the 15,000 children survived. The music was played by the Slovak National Symphony Orchestra and sung by soloists and a children’s choir, who became the voices of the children who perished. Marion Rice-Oxley’s film, ‘I Will Not Die’, tells the story of the making of this oratorio.
