A Finnish Christian MP is being investigated under hate crime legislation for quoting the Bible’s teaching on homosexuality.
Christian Democrat MP Päivi Räsänen criticised the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland (ELCF) for being an official partner of Helsinki Pride. Räsänen posted a photo of Romans 1:24-27 on Facebook, saying: “How can the church’s doctrinal foundation, the Bible, be compatible with the lifting up of shame and sin as a subject of pride?”
