Justin Welby is spearheading the evangelism drive

For the third year running, Christians across the country and the world set aside time from Ascension Day to Pentecost to pray specifically for people they know to come to know Jesus Christ.

Anglican, Catholic, Baptist, Methodist and Pentecostal churches all took part in the project, led by the Archbishop of Canterbury, called Thy Kingdom Come.

Launching this year’s initiative on Twitter, Arch-bishop Welby said: “Today, Thy Kingdom Come begins. Join me in praying for people we know to come to faith in Jesus Christ. Come Holy Spirit!”
