A six-year-old girl has been viciously beaten in Vietnam because her parents converted to Christianity.
The whole family were “brutally attacked”, according to Open Doors, but the little girl was in a coma for a month after being hit on the head and punched in the stomach. When she awoke, she was unable to recognise her parents.
When her parents stopped worshipping their ancestors and began following Jesus, angry villagers demanded they deny their faith. When they refused, they were beaten and dragged out of their village by ropes tied to their hands.
Members of their church took the family to a nearby hospital, where they were treated. The family’s pastor gained permission from the local authorities for the family to return to their home, which they have done, but villagers continue to threaten them.
