Over 250 Dutch Christian leaders are under investigation for signing the Nashville Statement.

The Statement, affirming belief in traditional Christian sexual ethics, was launched in 2017 in the US and signed by over 22,000 Christian leaders.

But after Dutch LGBT acti-vists condemned the Statement, the Public Prosecution Service is reportedly reviewing whether the signatories have broken Dutch law.

The manifesto supports conventional marriage and states: “It is sinful to approve of
homosexual impurity or transgenderism.”

Kees van der Staaij, Dutch MP and leader of the SGP political party, says: “The Nashville Statement reflects the classic Christian notions on relationships and sexuality.”
