By Samara Levy

Hodder & Stoughton, 2019

In winter 2013, mother of two Samara Levy was moved by reports of barefoot Syrian refugee children in snow covered camps.

She began collecting winter clothes for them, and soon found herself in the heart of one of the most complex and dangerous war zones in the world.

This quickly grew into a nationwide appeal which has provided medical facilities in Syria during the conflict, and now aims to build a new hospital to serve the Syrian people.

Reader André Suwalsky commented, “This is a gripping story full of hair-raising suspense. An eye-opener which gives a different perspective to the one-sided BBC reports we have been used to.”
