Local Muslims attacked ten church buildings of eight denominations in Halaba Kulito, a town in southern Ethiopia on 9 February, according to aid agencies Steadfast Global and Voice of the Martyrs Canada.

One building was destroyed and property was burnt inside all the churches.

A Steadfast Global representative said: “The incensed crowds comprising Muslim residents of all ages from across the town made their way to the churches chanting ‘Allahu Akbar’ after being given false information that a mosque in the surrounding countryside had been fire-bombed.”
