Brexit blessing?

I am not sure why people think God will bless us as a result of Brexit.

Most people in Scotland voted to remain in the EU; Brexit may lead to Scotland leaving the UK, which would endanger Northern Ireland’s position as well.

Brexit might also make trade with Europe more difficult. Our country will be affected by the EU’s trade restrictions, while the effects of our trade restrictions on them will be absorbed by the whole EU.

Sweet savour

Coral Raven is wrong in quoting Isaiah 1:11 to show that God detests animal sacrifice (Oct/Nov).

God gladly introduced the sacrificial system to cover sin; the following verses make it clear that he was angry because of the people’s hypocrisy. They were going through the ritual of sacrifices, but were enjoying sin at the same time.

In Genesis 8:21, God called Noah’s sacrifice a “sweet savour”. This is hardly detesting it!

Fried Bible blasphemy

Glasgow is shifting towards a culture that doesn’t reflect its Christian heritage.

In 2009, a Glasgow art gallery displayed a Bible fried in batter, the work of two artists. But in 2014, and earlier this year, infernos caused considerable damage to Glasgow School of Art’s landmark building, designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

Was this punishment for destroying a Holy Bible and shamefully calling it art? Could the answer be in 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9? It warns us that God takes vengeance in flaming fire on those who do not know God.

Boycott Chinese goods

My husband and I are extremely concerned about the Chinese government’s attitude towards their Christian population (Oct/Nov) and have agreed to boycott the many Chinese goods in our shops.

Global warming ‘scam’

We are told that global warming, climate change and greenhouse gases are ruining planet earth.

So is legislating in favour of wind farms, solar panels and electric vehicles part of the solution? But what does the Bible say? To verify what you know about global warming, I recommend viewing a documentary film called ‘The Great Global Warming Swindle.’

Similarly, to see whether evolution’s proponents are prejudiced against alternative arguments despite the evidence, watch ‘Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed’.
