A 2,700-year-old seal that probably belonged to the prophet Isaiah has been found by archaeologists in Jerusalem. The tiny clay piece is especially significant because it was found very near to one belonging to King Hezekiah, with whom the prophet had a close relationship.

The Hebrew University’s Dr Eilat Mazar said: “The chances of it belonging to any other but the known prophet Isaiah are extremely slim. No other figure was closer to King Hezekiah than the prophet Isaiah.” (JNN, 28 Feb 2018, quoting Kehila News)

The hand of the prophet Isaiah himself may have created this 8th century BC seal impression
